There's no need for the kids to feel bored next week during their holidays. Not only do we expect superb weather this coming weekend, but you can book tickets for all kinds of great children's theatre during 'De Betovering' festival. October is also the month to focus on Indian culture so make sure to grab a movie or visit a traditional Indian dance performance during the Holland India Festivals. And everyone is warmly welcome to take part in the free Divali Festival in The Hague!

Children's theatre festival 'De Betovering'

The art & culture festival ‘De Betovering’ (The Enchantment) takes place in The Hague from 17 to 26 October 2014. Children will be treated to some 350 performances and workshops at 48 different locations. With a large number of performances suitable for a non Dutch-speaking audience.

The Hague Pop Week Haroon Ullah
From 17 to 26 October the city will be packed with free music during the The Hague Pop Week. Every street corner and stage will turn into a showcase from an intimate acoustic concert in a small pub to special performances in unexpected places.
 
The Pakistani American author and State Department official Haroon Ullah will be interviewed about political extremism on 20 October at The Hague Public Library. The evening ‘How do you become a terrorist?’ is part of Writers Unlimited The Series.

 Europe Lecture ‘Through the Looking Screen’
The Montesquieu Institute organises the annual Europe Lecture on 28 October in the Kloosterkerk. Former president of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga and Professor Jonathan Holslag will express their views on 'Europe in the World: Peace and Security'.  
The 1-woman comic opera ‘Through the Looking Screen’ about love on the Internet will be performed in the Paradijs Theater from 30 October to 1 November. An operatic portrayal of a desperate young woman losing touch with the world beyond her PC and smartphone.
