With the much-anticipated arrival of Spring, The Hague turns its attention to human rights and human dignity during the major Movies that Matter Festival. Most of the films are suitable for an English-speaking audience. You can also celebrate cultural diversity during the free Diversity Rocks festival and try your hand at volunteer work during NLdoet. And for those of you who went to the polls yesterday: Thank you for voting!

It's time again for the annual Movies that Matter Festival from 20 to 28 March in Filmhuis Den Haag and Theater aan het Spui. The successor to the Amnesty International Film Festival, the film and debate festival focuses on human rights and human dignity.

The multidisciplinary anti-discrimination ‘Diversity Rocks: 2103 Festival’ takes place in the Humanity House on 21 March. A celebration of cultural diversity, but also an examination of outdated social structures.

Bill Bowers Dag in de Branding
American actor Bill Bowers will return to The Hague with his poignant 1-man show ‘Beyond Words’ in Het Paradijs on 27 March. Taking the audience on a funny and thought-provoking journey of sound and silence.
  Treat yourself to the surprising sounds of new music during the Dag in de Branding Festival on 28 March. Unorthodox piano work by composer Dick Raaijmakers will play a pivotal role in this edition.

Flagship Market ‘Images that Matter’ exhibition
The Hague’s Zeeheldenkwartier will get a new high-quality outdoor market with the first edition of the Flagship Market on 29 March.  
The 'Images that Matter' exhibition organised by the Movies that Matter Festival can be seen in The Hague City Hall until 26 March. ‘Refugee Republic’ and ‘The Green House’ look at the plight of refugees waiting for help.
