This August, make the most of the good weather on the beach with free music festival Schollenpop, the Woodstock Surf Festival, BAZ boulder rock-climbing festival and the spectacular International Firework Festival in Scheveningen. Enjoy lazy summer evenings in the city with open-air cinema in Nutshuis, live music on the canals during Jazz’in De Gracht and outdoor performances of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ and Dick King-Smith’s ‘Babe: The Sheep-Pig’ in Wassenaar.

Schollenpop in Scheveningen

Schollenpop stands for sun, sea, sand and of course live pop and rock music. And all that will be free of charge during the 17th edition of this fantastic pop festival on Scheveningen beach on 3 August.

The long-awaited fifth edition of BAZ Boulders on the Beach takes place on Scheveningen beach in the weekend of 16 to 18 August. Recreational climbers and international top athletes of all ages will be able to enjoy more than 300 rock climbing routes on the North Beach of Scheveningen.

Valkenboskade closed to dogs

The free-run area for dogs along the Valkenboskade will be closed. The Hague Municipal Executive took this decision after years of complaints about the foul stench and dog poop and the desire of neighbourhood residents to close off the area. A series of measures taken over the past year was not able to improve the situation.
