Judith Plomp successfully defended her dissertation

On October 27, at 11:45 in an online session Judith Plomp defended her dissertation titled "Job crafting across employment arrangements. Proactivity on the interface of work and careers".
Judith Plomp is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University. She holds an MSc degree in Organizational Psychology from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 2015, she started the PhD trajectory of the School of Business and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her main research interests are proactive work behaviors in the context of contemporary work arrangements, employee well-being, and employability.
Chun Yang successfully defended his dissertation

On October 27, at 15:45 in an online session Chun Yang defended his dissertation titled "Firm survival and innovation in emerging markets: The case of China".

Chun Yang obtained his MPhil. degree in Science & Technology Policy at Tsinghua University. In 2014, he joined the PhD program under the supervision of prof. dr. Bart Bossink and dr. Peter Peverelli at the Division of Science, Business and Innovation at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His current research interests include innovation management, firms’ political connections, and institutional transition in emerging markets.
Mirella Kleijnen table guest at the KSF Annual Congress
On November 5, the Klanten Service Federatie (KSF) ‘Customer Service Federation’ is organizing its annual conference, this time in the form of an online interactive talk show where everyone can connect digitally (free of charge). Themes that come up:
The New Way of Working (from Home): how do organizations such as Rabobank and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deal with this? What about customer contact in the US and what is it like to be a customer and citizen in China? What is the importance of the "Human Touch" in Customer Experience and to what extent do the preconditions for the best CX change? How do you demonstrate the value of customer contact from your data? And how do you identify the customer based on his voice?

Current issues in these challenging times. During this talk show, Mirella Kleijnen is a table guest and talks about the role of Customer Experience in the digital transformation: more relevant than ever this year.

Management Consulting listed as top programme.
In an article about the best master programmes in management consulting EDUopinions has listed the Management Consulting program of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, next to the programs of other top business schools. The article can be found here. The master program is offered by the Management Consulting group of the M&O department of SBE, and has currently 60 students.
