Seminar Joris Ebbers - 9 November
ABRI would like to invite you to an ABRI lunch seminar given by Dr. Joris Ebbers (University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam Business School) about “The perceived value of multi-dimensional intra-incubator entrepreneurial networks and new venture performance.”

Christine Fong will present her paper "Supervisors’ Reactions to Contraction Job Crafting: The Role of Political Skill" on 12 November from 15:00 - 16:30 in room BV 0H-54.
 
KIN Talk Patrick Vreeburg - 9 November
Jet fighter pilot Patrick Vreeburg is working as “Chief Air C2 Cell” at the Operation Center of the Air Force Command. He focuses on the planning and steering of big air force operations, combining people and technology. On November 9, Patrick will come over to talk about the struggles and opportunities of managing the closed-off defence organization and the need for open innovation to remain on top of current technological developments.

Info session Part-Time PhD programme - 12 November

Enrolment for the 2019 cohort of the Part-time PhD programme in Business Studies is now open. Executives and management practitioners who aspire a PhD degree are invited to apply.
To obtain more information about the programme and to discuss potential research topics, prospective PhD candidates are welcome to attend our upcoming information sessions.
 
The information sessions is scheduled on Monday, November 12 from 18:00 till 19:30 in Forum 4, room HG 1D-12.

ARCA Seminar Yasemin Karaibrahimoglu - 12 November
Yasemin Karaibrahimoglu (University of Groningen) will present her paper (co-authored with Vlad-Andrei Porumb, Gerald Lobo, Reggy Hooghiemstra, and Dick De Waard) titled: “Is More Always Better? Disclosures in the Expanded Audit Report and Their Impact on Loan Contracting”.
This seminar will take place on Monday, November 12 from 12.00 to 14.00 in 8A-44 Main Building.

KIN Information Evening: Executive Programme - 14 November
In 2019, KIN's Parttime Executive Program will start. Over a period of 8 months, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to deal with the complex environment of digital transformation. In 16 sessions, participants will learn the strategic opportunities of digital transformation, ways of organising, implementing digital innovation in existing systems and structures as well as deal with ethical questions and social consequences.

Call for Nominations: ABRI Visiting Professorship 2019
The Amsterdam Business Research Institute offers 3 new ABRI Visiting Professor positions, starting on April 1, 2019. The visit(s) to VU can be planned at any time between April 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019. You are welcome to nominate a candidate (in consultation with your Head of Department).

ABRI is seeking nominations of experienced, internationally renowned experts with a high potential to make a significant contribution to our research community in any of our academic focus areas:

- Accounting & Financial Management
- Information & Innovation Management
- Logistics & Operations Research
- Marketing
- Organisational Behaviour
- Strategy & Organisation
 
The purpose of the Visiting Professor appointments is to stimulate the development of new research on the topics relevant to the appointed professor.

The Visiting Professor positions are non-employment, grant-based positions. Funding covers two return flights and 10,000 EUR for accommodation and daily allowance.

Prerequisite for the position is an affiliation as associate or full professor with a university or research institute outside of the Netherlands, and a commitment to stay at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam for a period of 3-4 weeks throughout the period of the appointment. This stay can be divided into 2 visits.

You can address your nomination including CV with publication list and motivation letter (also clearly describing the benefit for the hosting research group at ABRI) to Mariana Stori before November 30, 2018 (m.t.stori@vu.nl).
