Project FoodBank: SBE students provide support where it is needed most

Students of the Master’s programme Transport and Supply Chain Management started a Community Service Learning (CSL) project to help the Amsterdam Food Bank Initiative. Goal is to help stabilizing their capacity.

The student organization currently consists out of 9 students and professor Sander de Leeuw. The organization is operating out of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and aims to support the Amsterdam Food Bank with finance and fresh produce support through creating and providing long-term sustainable solutions.

The initiative tries to reduce the amount of processed foods distributed to families and bring more fresh food to those who need it most.
We need students, you, to build a sustainable team and provide long-term capacity, continuous support, and improvements, through student knowledge capabilities, to the Amsterdam Food Banks’ operations.

Marleen Huysman in VUurwerk on KIN Center for Digital Innovation
Marleen Huysman was interviewed for the Vrije Universiteit’s magazine “VUurwerk”!

The interview is in Dutch, but one important quote states:

“A lot of managers and professionals want to ‘look further’ [the VU’s slogan], but don’t know where to start. There is so much going on in the digital wonderland, with new hypes going on everywhere, that it becomes increasingly difficult for organizations to find their way. We want to use our knowledge and experience to help organizations to organize and manage the development and use of digital innovations in effective and responsible ways.”
